A boat departs with its passengers.
They dream of something different, something more, something better.
They leave everything that is familiar
and travel to a place they don't know.
Full of expectations, wishes, for sure.
Looking for a better life.
Some on deck, nose to the wind,
others hiding in the hold.
They all hope for good sailing,

The journey from 'now' to 'later'.
BOOT was played by children from the Antwerp Left Bank. Children from primary schools Sint-Anna Goethe and School aan de Stroom rehearsed weekly at BOOT. They improvised, wrote their own lyrics and played their own characters.

BOOT is a co-production of Laika and kunstZ. The performance BOOT was created in the context of the BLOK-BLOC festival, which took place in Europark Linkeroever.
