In 2007 Kopspel vzw started a first artistic project, a theatre performance with newcomers. Greet Vissers directs a group of non-native speakers in Genesis. From the beginning, she worked closely with an artistic team for choreography, video and music. Genesis is a vibrant performance with a hybrid character in which multilingualism and diversity are a major strength. The public and press are delighted and the production wins the Cutting Edge Award 'Best Theater Performance 2007'.

10 actors and 8 musicians from four continents are looking for a universal creation story.  But one Genesis is not the other.  Whether they come from the Himalayan massif, from the Iraqi desert, from the African savannah, from the Amazon mud… once in Belgium they are all forced to go through the Flemish clay.  And this is where everyone's personal Genesis story begins: a search for individuality in an anonymous environment.

The debut of this colorful company is a dazzling whole of image projection, improvisation and dance with a musical foundation.  Genesis is a captivating event that cannot be captured in one story, in one language.
