City Ghetto's of Today, Antwerp

The City Ghetto's of Today went in search of the contemporary interpretation of the concept of 'ghetto' in various European cities. 

The City Ghetto's of Today is an artistic process and a sociological investigation.  An international project team, together with participants from different communities, created a space to search for stories, interpretations and issues about migration and diversity. The project visited Bologna, Paris, Warsaw, Helsinki, Milan and Berlin. 

Under Sail, the Antwerp edition of The City Ghettos of Today, was a multidisciplinary event. On the eighth floor of MAS, with a view of the city and the harbour, the students of the KunstZ academy showed the results of the workshops.    

Breeding grounds. New art forms and citizenship in urban diversity. In the context of 'The City Ghetto's of Today', kunstZ organized a seminar in collaboration with Demos and with the collaboration of the University of Antwerp and the Evens Foundation. In this seminar, the arts & culture sector came together with academic researchers to share visions about working in and with a super-diverse society.
